Two topics I'm tired of: Gabby's hair and Chick-Fil-A.
As an African American woman with natural hair, I can understand the importance of what my hair looks like and how it/I am perceived based on how it looks. To me Gabby's hair could look better. I'm not a hater/jealous or insecure, very proud of her and the team actually. Apparently saying that equals being jealous a hater or insecure, but I am really none of those things. Ok well I am insecure but it has nothing to do with her or my hair, more like a weight issue(see previous 2 posts). And it is incredibly annoying when everyone says that just because some people have an opinion(insignificant one of course) they are any or all of those things. Make a better argument as to why that is the case, after all you don't know me from Adam or Eve. A critique or observation is not the same as hatred...seriously know the difference. Oh and don't say well she is an athlete...so. What about the Runners and Volleyball players? *taps keyboard* can't think of any huh?!
Now Chick-Fil-A, I love their food but really dislike their approach. I'm all for opinions/beliefs and stating them but why go to the extreme as they have done to make sure all knows their "T" or truth. Many different things could have been differently with yesterdays appreciation. Such as a drop off. Come in get food and drop off any goods or clothing and support your local/national charities. Or just donating the extra proceed's from the day to Chick-Fil-A's favorite charities. Or give away a free item with purchase. Anything other than what occurred yesterday. To see a group of other AA people holding up bags of Chick-Fil-A in church was probably more disturbing than anything else. I don't understand how a group of Christian people can support a company that literally hates someone based on their personal sexual relationship. Who gave you the right to care what someone else does in their own bed which more than likely will have no personal/professional affect on you? Not allowing someone to get married based on sexual orientation is ridiculous. Did I choose to be straight, did I choose to be AA, did I choose to only date white men? Absolutely not. So what on earth gives people the idea that the LGBT community chose to be who they are? Insane. After all of this honestly I am not sure I will go back and eat there again.
